This first birthday photoshoot was a magical way to celebrate a once-in-a-lifetime milestone — and this studio cake smash was the perfect way to celebrate! Styled with a soft pink, gold, and mint balloon garland and topped off with a little crown, this princess-themed first birthday photoshoot gave us all the fairytale vibes.
From her sparkly gold bodice and blush tulle skirt to the sweet pink rosette cake, everything about this setup was made to make her shine. We added just the right touch of royalty — including a crown that made her look like the birthday queen she is. The soft pastel color palette and custom balloon backdrop gave the photos a dreamy, magical feeling.
This sweet girl is a Baby Plan graduate, and it was such a joy to celebrate the end of her first-year journey with this session. From sleepy newborn photos to sitting up with pride, and now smashing her very first cake — every stage has been full of personality and joy. Seeing her grow has been a gift!
If you’re just starting your journey, take a peek at what’s included in our newborn photography sessions — every Baby Plan begins with a beautiful newborn experience.
All of our Cake Smash and Splash sessions include a custom-designed set based on your preferences. She may not have eaten much of it, but that didn’t stop her from having the best time! (Wondering what your baby can eat? The AAP Feeding Guide is a great resource for 1-year-olds.) We’ll help guide the styling to match your vision — whether soft and sweet or bold and colorful. After the cake smash, babies can enjoy a splash in our adorable white mini tub, which makes for some of the happiest smiles and clean-up fun!
Let’s make something magical together. Whether you want a whimsical theme like this princess session or something entirely unique, I’ll help you plan a Cake Smash that fits your style and preferences

I am married to the love of my life who has recently retired from the Army. We are back “home” after being away for 21 years. We have 3 young boys and 1 daughter who is pursuing her college career. As a photographer, I specialize in the newborns and maternity portraits. I just love the amazing process of pregnancy and then having that sweet, new bundle of joy to love. Capturing all that is so important and I feel so blessed to be a part of this special time in my client’s lives.
