A family session with a 2 month old
Newborn sessions are usually between 5 days and 4 weeks old. Ideally, newborn sessions are done between 5 days and 10 days old. This is because babies are still sleeping very hard and their bones are not hardened. They can still curl up the way they did in the womb.
The Dilrukshika family found me when their baby was already nearly two months old. They wanted a newborn session, but did not realize that a 2 month old is no longer considered a newborn. With that in mind, we had a session that was more about family than about posing the baby as if he was a newborn.
So instead of posing the baby on the table, we decided to keep the baby wrapped and use some of my bigger props to create sets their family would love. Olan, the two month old, slept through almost all of the poses and loved being wrapped. We got many family poses as well.
In the end, the Dilrukshika family decided to buy a large album filled with portraits they will cherish and pass down for many years to come.
The family loves their portraits so much they decided to invest in a baby plan that included all the Milestone sessions for baby Olan. Olan will come back to the studio for his 5 month old session, his sitter session, his nine-month-old session, and his 1-year birthday cake smash.
It has been such a pleasure watching Olan grow and his family fall more in love with him with each session. Capturing these precious present moments in beautiful print products such as our albums the Dilrukshika family couldn’t be happier.
I’m so excited to see this baby plan all the way through and watch Olan grow into the handsome little boy I know he will be. Having multiple sessions with the same family throughout the year is so rewarding. Your family becomes ours!

I am married to the love of my life who has recently retired from the Army. We are back “home” after being away for 21 years. We have 3 young boys and 1 daughter who is pursuing her college career. As a photographer, I specialize in the newborns and maternity portraits. I just love the amazing process of pregnancy and then having that sweet, new bundle of joy to love. Capturing all that is so important and I feel so blessed to be a part of this special time in my client’s lives.
